My Drawings of Fish Eggs and Larvae

Fish Eggs, Larvae, and Fry

These drawings were done the old-fashioned way, called stippling, at the New York Ocean Science Laboratory (NYOSL) during the period between summer, 1973 to summer, 1974. All of these fish eggs and larvae were collected in Long Island Sound.

Some of these drawings are of identified species, while others are not. In that time, identifying fish eggs and larvae was based on a few sources of print information. However, now there numerous print and online sources of information. One of the most extensive resources for both fish and fish eggs and larvae are the The Fish Base and The Larval Base.
